Is it normal that 45-year-old woman is saving her virginity for mr. right?

She's an in-law of mine. She comes from a conservative old world culture, but lives in California.

I find it hard to believe she'll ever find a man willing to marry her the virtuous way, meaning no sex until after the wedding, given her age. Does she even have a prayer? She has been combing "Christian Cafe" and other dating sites for over a decade, with no success. She is smart, pretty, and has a nice body. But I think most of the men she deals with are in their 40s or older and just can't cope with the sex issue.

Honestly, whatever! I don't know why people make such a big stink over people who are virgins, especially when they're virgins, because they actually care who they could lose it to. And in all actuality, there are people out there that really don't care all that much about sex as many other people do.

I don't see anything wrong with you waiting. The only thing I'm thinking, is that when the time comes, you will be lacking the experience as a lot of others your age, which could make you feel a little lost. But if its the right guy, he'll be understanding of that and help you through it. A lot of things in this world are worth waiting for, anyway.

It's not the virginity part that makes this story sad. If the title were: "IIN that a 45 year old woman is a virgin and doesn't give a fuck what anybody thinks of it?", I'd say "totally normal".

One of my in-laws was 35 when she lost her virginity. Nothing wrong with waiting for the right person.

It's the honourable thing to do.
I have great respect for people like that who can uphold their values despite these difficulties.
I hope she can find someone decent. Things can only get better, not worse.

  • I had an great aunt sort of like that. Actually, I think she was gay but not out of the closet (not accepted by her generation). She joined a convent, served in the military, worked as a barber and when she was dying of a stroke and the doctor addressed her "Mrs.", she quickly corrected him saying, "It's Ms. ____. I've never been married and I've NEVER had sex!". The whole family roared with laughter because even in the state she was in, she still had her feisty spirit.

But anyway, I don't think your in-law is going to have much luck with that... but you never know! Stranger things have happened.

Saving your virginity is hard. I can't imagine how she manage to keep it till her 40s. She deserve an applause! If that's her belief than i think that would be unchangeable. Just remember that God will pay her for her good attitude. So she wouldn't need to be sorry for herself. Keep on looking. It's useless to have a guy as a bf if they only want her body but not serious on marrying her.

GOOD FOR HER! Freaking insulting to think that it's necessary to "give it up" in order to be in a relationship! Geez, I'd marry her in a heartbeat!

People who believe in jesus christ or any other god from any other religion are no different than people who believe in UFO's.

Obviously you knew your uncle and it is not for me to say "How do you know he died virgin" as quite rightly you'd reply back "How dare you claim to know more about my life than I do", as anyone would. However please lose the notion that just because someone is not married it mean sthey do not have sex or are virgins as this not true. Whils there are some people who save themselves for marriage and good for them if that's what they believe in. However I am not married never have never will be, but I am far from being a virgin. xx

Thank you for your very welcome message, My uncle told me he was a virgin, this was when he was in his forties and living alone in Wales, of course I don't know for sure if he really did die a virgin but in the latter part of his life he lived a life of a loner and almost a recluse, I would visit him on a reguler basis and we would chat about personal things, I must have told him about my status for him to admit that, and I was quite surprised,I didn't lose my virginity till I was 24!

Some Christians would approve of her decision and values. She can find one of them and hope she does if she wants that.

You know what a "normal" single facepalm is, right?

So, multiple facepalm is used when the fail is so great that one single facepalm just doesn't seem sufficient.
