Iin, stories on here bringing you to tears??

i read the story on here of the man who wants to put his father in the worst nursing home he can find. i was nearly in tears. if it's a true story, and i really hope it isn't, i hope he finds a decent one for him to live in if he can't look after him himself.

i know of people constantly soaking because staff couldn't be bothered to put people on the toilet, water taken away so they didn't get overloaded (so the staff could do less work), people insulted when they were unable to control their bladder/bowels, left in soiled diapers all day. i don't know how/why these homes can still be open. i know this because i've stayed in quite a few myself.

Whenever I see depressing posts, I try to give advice then simply pretend the post was fake.

I remember that post. because it actually made me guilty and want to appreciate my parents more. It's not like I'm vicious to them, but I'm definitely not great because I've been closed off from them for the past several months. have my mind set on a call this sunday

funny how things work out sometimes

Yeah, nursing homes suck. Some people in them are legitimately insane. My mother worked in one, and some guy would throw his crap on the walls - or one of them, a retired boxer would try to fistfight the employees.
It can be understandable that employees get impatient or lazy, but that's why only the most kind and caring should be put up for the job. Insane or not, the residents deserve decent care.
Anyway, I hope that OP didn't put his dying father in a shithole.
