Being overweight can cause extreme health issues such as diabetes, blood clots and heart attacks. Calling her a whale will not help her lose weight, it might even be making her eat more.

Sit down and tell her you're worried, suggest special diets or even invite her to go to a dietician. Ask her to go on walks with you or even suggest getting a treadmill for her.

This is what is going to help, not acting like an asshole.

When a fat person is called fat almost all the time (which I'm sure you do, because your an asshole......obviously), the person gets depressed and insecure. Before you know it she can no longer socialise because of her insecurities. She becomes very secluded and an automatic introvert. Also because she's depressed she eats more and more.
