Is it normal someone asked if my cousins were mother/daughter?

I went out with cousins to store. Store woman asked aww is that your daughter, she's so pretty.

My cousins are sisters, not mother/daughter. One of them is 20, the other is 14...She thought the 14 yr old was her daughter. My cousin looks her age of 20 so I don't get it. Was the woman blind or what? Most people actually think my cousin is 15!

    Either the 20 year old looked older to the woman, the 14 year old looked younger to the woman, or both. Its normal. Something like that happened to my sister and her friend. They're both the same age, but someone thought that my sisters friend was her mother.

      No but they have to look old enough to be a mom of a teenager. They're only 6 yrs apart. So that would mean she would have had her at 6 yrs old...
