Is it normal society favors married couples with children?

Am I a sociopath to think that getting married and having kids is something that should be more looked down on? Like, great, you didn't wear a condom and now not only took on more responsibility but will be given better career opportunities.

How to make people feel sorry for you, employers included..."Oh, I am married with kids to take care of". Furthermore, they are more able to take off days from work.

I feel that there are people who have families and haven't necessarily accomplished a ton who are given the opportunity to make more money. As well, on social media like Facebook, these people are often revered as great community figures it feels like.

Yes, I understand why it is and I may feel differently if it were my life, but I think that it is stupid. I've met numerous unmarried single people with two year liberal arts degrees who are lucky to make 15 an hour.

You're not really wrong, but should only be looked down on if they're bad parents. The world would be a much better place in general if only the responsible decided to have kids.

If you can't feed 'em don't breed 'em.

I agree. They're in effect doubling their entire lifetime's worth of pollution in one act. People who choose not to have kids should be revered for saving the planet from overpopulation and global warming.

No you aren't a sociopath. I agree with you. Why should you get a tax break for finding love and having a kid? What about ugly or lame people who no one wants to be with. Why should they have to suffer more than they already do?
