Is it normal plummeting sensation when falling asleep

Recently when I’ve been drifting off to sleep at night I get a split second sensation like I’m plummeting through the sky and I jolt really intensely and wake myself up.

It’s a shitty way to end a tiring day.

I do that then look around to make sure no one saw me do it.
      Even if I'm alone.

Sleeping on your belly helps. Sleeping on your side is the worst. Its just your brain not in complete sync with your body when falling to sleep. Totally harmless.

        You can't use Google?

        • I didn’t think it would be common enough for google to understand what I was talking about.

          You can’t be nice?

I'm sorry, I didn't realise that giving you the answer you wanted, but were too lazy to look for, wasn't nice.

Just because it's not sugar coated, doesn't mean it isn't a reasonable answer. It wasn't "nice", it wasn't "mean". How do you cope with every day life if you can't handle neutral questions?

I mean, fuck...I could show you not nice if you really want.

Some might even say your complete lack of thanks wasn't very "nice".

Yeah. I agree. Whenever anyone posts anything that might be Google-able I often do Google it and find the answer they're looking for within the first two results.

            • I tried googling, but thought that I’d get better results if I could give more of an explanation to my situation.

And yes, that’s exactly what I want, for you show me what real “not nice”ness really is. While I’m sleep deprived and irritated enough to go to this stupid site for any kind of help, I just want you to give it to me! Let me have it! Come on show me how mean you can really be!
              Miserable cunt.
When a stranger asks you for directions do you insult them after answering?

You mean he should search in google that would link him to a site just like iin and be told by posters in there to use google.

When does it end, when.. does.. it.. end..

If they had googled...they'd get either a medical article or wikipedia as their first result, followed by a bunch of other medical articles. You'd know that if you had tried, you complete gimp.

            • Man just fuck off. I haven’t slept correctly in weeks now and was just desperately grasping at straws.

Suck my fat cock and go be a jackass on someone else’s post. Sure makes you feel real tough picking on people trying to get help with their issues huh?
I’ll kick your fucking teeth in cunt

Also whatever you linked me isn’t what I have

Maybe.. until they scrolled down a little bit and come to a site indexed to a thread like this.

Gimp? why are you being a troll, I have not insulted you. Grow up! act like an adult.

Its usually caused by your body being twisted in some fashion while asleep.

Happens to me when I'm sleeping on an uneven surface. Is your mattress old?

I always feel a falling feeling and i just role with it. This in turn makes me "fall" in my dreams and i just want to point out that i am extremely scared of falling/heights. So yea sleeping sucks

I sometimes dream about tripping on a step and my jerking legs wake me up.

Falling usually wakes people up. I, personally, have had so many dreams that end with me falling and waking up.

I've done this several times. I think it's very normal.
