Is it normal people think i'm cooler than i actually am.

A lot of people kiss my ass all the time. If I go to a party, people always seem to notice me & want to talk to me. I'm a pretty social guy, but i feel like some sort of legend around where i live. TONS of people know me, yet i don't know any of them. they all tell me how cool i am & i just don't see why...i've got nothing going for me, yet people seem to love me. WHY?!

I think you should appreciate the coolness clout for what it is: interesting, sometimes useful, but not something that defines you. It's outside of your control, and it's unhealthy to let that be a barometer for your self esteem or happiness. As such, you may want to practice disregarding peoples' perceptions of you, whether good or bad. It's a skill. Focus on your character, being a good friend to those around you, improving yourself, and of course having fun. You'll have more fleeting connections, but the deeper ones you still have to work at, just like everyone else.

It just happens. I have a lot of to offer but not too many people see that, I am not respected, some people think I'm dumb when I'm actually fairly intelligent. Heck people thought I was gonna shoot up the school just because I didn't like a few people and wore a long black coat for winter, far from a complete nobody. The point is, reputation is a silly thing, people see what they see, and in my opinion it's hard to make people see who you really are, especially the good parts.

Besides, it isn't so bad is it? And maybe you are likable but you just crap on yourself all the time.

If there's one thing people would never say about me it's that I'm cool. I usually show it when I don't like a situation or some ways of doing. My jokes are often laughed at but after people wonder if I was realy joking or if there was some truth in it. So they end up being confused about my person.

    You're lucky to be coooooooooool

      • Depends, a hipster is aware that isn't cool to be cool and crafts an image of not being cool.

But someone who doesn't know that it isn't cool to be cool but isn't cool regardless, is infact pretty cool.

          • I knew you would say that, for as I planned you WILL jump through the hipster hoop.

I shall now point you in the right direction.

I am cool. So I'm not cool enough to be deliberately uncool and therefore I can't be cool enough to be a hipster.
