Is it normal people misuse and misunderstand the meaning of these words?

Misinformed: When you give information you believe to be true but may not be.

Misleading:To purposely give a different impression but not telling something you know to be false. As in wearing all name brand cloth to appear like you have money when you do not.

Withholding information: To withhold information you are not willing to share.

Lying:To tell something you know not to be the truth.

If you do not tell your friend a personal secret that you do not want them to know they feel wronged. Even if that information is something they are directly involved in. If you give misleading information they blame you when it goes wrong. Even if you did not know the information was wrong. People think you a liar if you pretend to be something you are not. The fact is these are all very different things. People need to understand the difference. It urks me when people misuse these words.
