Is it normal people dump on the vegans who aren't even trying to convert them?

The fat bleached blond guy on Food Network decided on his own to try the tofu burger at a renounced restaurant (which was spiced like meat and ended up being delicious to him "Great flavor, you could put this in front of the average person or even a chef, and they wouldn't be able to tell the difference.") The first thing he had to say while she was preparing it was "Look at that gelatinous curd lard..." I don't stare at my family when they eat cheesy burgers and say, "Look at that congealed cow tit juice..." What's the deal?

Sadly it's normal but still completely wrong. Seems to me that there are more ignorant opinionated and vocally cruel people out there than decent respectful people.

I'm an omnivore. I don't dislike vegans or vegetarians just like I don't think about people who prefer the colour blue and dislike the colour red. It's totally fine with me that people have different preferences and different principles and priorities.

I strongly dislike the vocal idiots who just make the world unpleasant. I think the problem is herd mentality. They think most agree with them so they shout their opinions loudly." And without any regard for others or how ignorant they sound.

Earnestly? I´d say they feel guilty about eating meat.

I eat meat and I prefer not to think about it, at the moment I´m too selfish to give it up.

I'm with you on too selfish to give it up, but I feel no guilt intrinsically tied in with eating meat. The natural world we evolved in is not a gentle or forgiving place, and, as omnivores, we eat other animals. It's natural, and veal is delicious.

Having said that, I'd much, much rather the animals I eat to have been humanely treated than to be raised in the horrible factory farm conditions major meat companies require to meet demand. That won't stop me from obtaining my animal protein and vital amino acids from the remains of other thinking creatures.

I feel like; There´s no escuse to eat AS MUCH meat that most of us are eating. If everyone could eat meat for four days a week , vegetarian the rest there would be a little bit less cruelty in the world.

The only meat industry I can fully support are if you buy your meat from hunters, they literally just go out there, kills something and takes it with them home.
Like nature inteded for it to be.
(And maybe smaller farms, don´t know how common they are outside of Sweden)

Not ...meat companies that treats their animals like shit.

Some people are just compete assholes about things like that. I give them the benefit of the doubt, and thus believe that they are simply guilty and try to justify themselves by bringing vegans down with verbal abuse.

Yeah. This and that guy was on being recorded, so he was probably trying to be funny/cool/trendy or something.

I really cannot understand why anybody would take a conscious decision not to eat meat?

God placed these animals on earth for us to raise and consume, it is a very healthy and necessary part of our diets. Meat tastes delicious, is full of vitamins and iron etc. and keeps our immune systems ticking over like clock work.

On the opposite side of the coin, people who refuse to eat meat, cheese, milk etc. are pale, need to take supplements to get all the vitamins and iron etc. in their systems and are normally not very healthy!

I don't want to argue, but what you said about the supplements is a myth. Meat is by no means necessary, and I'm an atheist so what "God" wants has no matter to me.

    • Okay, you have to at least admit that humans are overdoing it. World hunger could be nearly ended with less steak what with their production costs.
