Is it normal people believe intelligence changes how capable you are of ill wil

People seem to mistake these as the same thing. They think that somehow being smarter means you are going to use it to help others. If a criminal is smart "They are not capable of crime", if someone is smart "They must be a generous person". Why do people confuse the too? How smart or stupid you are does not change how much you care about helping or hurting others or how capable you are of it.

"If a criminal is smart 'They are not capable of crime', if someone is smart 'They must be a generous person'"

Literally never heard anyone say this, ever.

So I don't know which morons you've been talking to, but I can assure you this isn't a commonly held belief.

  • Intelligence is not related to morals although stupid criminals are more often caught.

I do not believe that most people do this. Naive people may do this. But I think it is common knowledge that sociopaths are quite intelligent and quite capable doing harm and masking it as good. This is one reason why criminals are dangerous.
