Is it normal or am i an asshole?

Me and my gf pay the rent and her mom lives with us... Everytime we go anywhere her mom is like "can u get this for me?" store, resteraunt, anything... Everyday she needs help with something also... I'm very independent and even if I was on fire I woudnt ask for water to put me out... So I don't expect people bothering me because they are lazy!?!

I'm shocked you don't have the manners to ask if she needs anything as you are going out. Trust me, you only think you are independent but thousands of things were done for you by your parents until you moved out.

Be thankful for your good health that you're able to go out - and help someone in the process.

Grow up @sshole. It won't kill you!!

No, you're not an asshole. If you're the ones paying the rent and SHE'S living with YOU, I'd say the little things are her problem, unless she CAN'T do it on her own.

I know what you're trying to say. I personally don't mind doing things for anyone. As a matter of fact, I constantly go out of my way to help others even if they hadn't asked for it. BUT, when it becomes habitual & people start to take advantage/take me for granted, then it bothers me. :(

you dont mention disabilities so barring that she could be a little more independant although if your going to the same place then why not grab something for her,and i wouldnt moan to your girl about this as she might see you as the asshole.
you say you dont ask for help who cleans the house and washes the clothes who pays the bills and replys to the letters you recieve, everyone at some time needs help so lighten up
