Is it normal only type of girl i want is the type that isn't interested in me

Ok, am I crazy for thinking this, or is this a normal thing? Of course, I admit that I've not been so fond of commitment for quite some time. One reason is simply wanting to date around.

But here's the problem - there's ONE type of woman that I really, truly want. She looks a certain way, listens to certain music, hangs out at certain places, etc. I have it narrowed down, so I know exactly what "my type" is. (Mid-20s, creative type, hipster type). The big issue is, I talk myself out of ever approaching any of them and talking to them, because I believe that none of them will be interested in me in the same way (mainly because there are so many other Mid-20s, creative type, hipster type guys with better hair, better jobs, better clothes, etc). Is this normal?

I've been told to "stop comparing myself to other guys," but it's really hard to do that - when I know that women are all standing around comparing us guys anyway. Is THIS normal?

What do YOU think is the problem? I'm open to suggestions, because DANG, I'm getting tired of just watching from the sidelines haha.

Maybe you like girls who seem unavailable because part of you is actually scared of being in a relationship.
