Is it normal not wanting to make new friends??

"I just started a new class. There are a couple of girls who follow me around all the time, it's so annoying! I forgot what it's like to have peaceful lunch breaks. I do not have any time left to myself at all." -from my 9th grade diary.

"i HATE them. I hate those movie theaters. The crowd there is just an uneducated, slimy one, and are these people deaf?? What's with the volume? Why did i come? Oh, right. For my "friends" "- from 11th grade

The above excerpts should be enough to convey why i want solitude. I just prefer my own company(and that of old friends who REALLY know me.), liking to do what i want without having to answer to anyone. in 9th-11th, those lice stuck to me only because i lent them my notes once. and was nice to them, which was apparently rare. and here are some new people again badgering me to waste time in coffee shops, movies etc. I'm sick of telling them no again and again. Is it that uncommon not to want new friends??

I understand completely! My best friends and the one's I'll drop anything for, are the ones from middle school and high school because I feel they really know and care about me. I don't want new friends really and ironically, I make friends very easily and often get invited to parties, clubs and get togethers. Strangely, I never want to go. I really have to convince myself to do something with a new friend. I rather prefer to be by myself or with old friends.

Don't listen to Redcoats, if you are happy not making friends then don't.

I am an introvert. People annoy me for the most part, I keep ppl at a distance and appreciate it that way.

To be introverted is normal. But to close doors to new relationships can.also be unhealthy.

Hi. I'm actually a regular user here under different alt. You don't have to be worried. You don't have to reply either. I'm just guessing. You are dappled.

Incorrect I'm afraid, but I'm from the same era as Dap and spoke to him a lot.

Thanks for the answer. You've killed my false curiousness. Somehow, I could see the similarity between you two that's why I was curious especially the friendly and the gentleness parts. Good night. :)

No, being an introvert is not uncommon. I try to be social but I really have to drag my ass and smoke some fine weed to care enough to be.
