well, it might be that you grew up with it and still love the harry potter movies/books. or you just like even though you are older because you think it's great.

There's nothing wrong with that at all. And just consider how many 'adults' watch cartoons. I'm sure the people who had a stupid answer watch things that many others would consider childish or lame. Screw them, potter rocks!!!!!

Everyone likes HP except for hardcore conservative christians, elitist occultists, and elitist literary critics. Your parents probably love HP as much as you.
Personally, I love the Harry Potter series because the themes that are prevalent throughout the books are so common among everyday life. The characters are very well developed and everyone can find someone to relate to. JK Rowling has done an excellent job in creating this wonderful universe.
I enjoyed the books and watch the movies when I get to it. I haven't enjoyed the movies anywhere as much as the books but I'll still watch them anyway.
I think it's got little to do with age. I'm 32, I think, and just swallowed the books as they came out; except for the fifth one (that one was far from a page turner for me).
I'm a 21 year old woman, and I still fantasize about the possibility of Hogwarts, or the real life equivalent of Hogwarts, being real. Who wouldn't want to live a life as Harry Potter?
