Alright ladies and gentlemen :) Thanks for taking the time to read this post.

I have a friend at school who is 100% Welsh, and he is a big drama queen and has quite a short temper.

I like him, he's been my friend for a good 4 years now, but whenever we mention anything to do with the welsh, or sheep, he goes ape shit on our asses.

For example, one time I commented on a video we were watching in science and said "Oh he's got a really nice welsh accent", and he turned to me and said:
"So? Whats wrong with that? Do you have a problem with Welsh?" :/ I don't know, thats odd, right?

Another time was when my best friend and I were doodling sheep in the commonroom on paper, and he comes over and says very loudly "Oh! You're drawing sheep, that's offensive don't do that. I find that very racist."

I make it very clear to him that I don't have a thing against Welsh people at all - and I don't think they are 'sheep shaggers' or anything like that - but it's beginning to tick me off.

    He's oversensitive, if someone says something critical about the NE - Newcastle etc., I join in even though I live in that area!

    Because it nullifies their malicious intent and makes the situation into a lighter one.

    He sounds like a prick though.

    People can be sensitive about where they come from, especially if people are dismissive. I come from Welsh stock and, although I'm not sensitive about it, I don't like generalisations about the Welsh.

    It is not at all normal for him to react so strongly like that. Is your school in England?
    Maybe he has a background reason for being hyper-sensitive. UK countries and Ireland always take the mickey out of eachother but it is usually harmless fun.
    It's not like you or your friends have been targeting him with anti-Welsh ideas and jokes.
    Could you maybe have a chat with him in private to see what his problem is?

    I have lived in Wales and they are a bunch of self centered idiots they think they are the main place in UK even though when someone says UK Wales is the last place that comes to mind.
