Is it normal my rooster tried to attack me so i kicked him into the air

So I went to close in the hens and the rooster didn't wanna go in the coop. I tried to usher him inside and he came towards me and tried to attack me! I freaked out and kicked him and this sent him sailing through the air and he landed feet away in the snow. I lost my shoe. I feel bad because he might be injured. Is it normal or do I have a bad temper? I don't want people to think I harm animals.

It's never good to injure your cock.

If you were trying to hurry him into the pen he was probably just defending the hens and isn't that one of the reasons you have a rooster? However, I'd be inclined to get rid of any rooster which tried to attack me - there are plenty of peaceful roosters around, why keep a nasty one?

  • You went overboard. Take him to the vet.

no!! a light shove would of done it, you didn't have to fucking punt your rooster like a football! you could of broken his bones, or make him internally bleed! if you wake up tomorrow to find a half dead rooster, i wouldn't be surprised!!!
