Being slightly racist is not uncommon in my family, I myself am somewhat, yes we live in the south.

However that being said our racism is only casual on its worst days. Really about the most bigoted things we do is tell inappropriate jokes, and get annoyed at interracial couples. We're not crazy nut-jobs who want to bring back slavery, or deprive people of the right to vote, or re-institute jim crow or any such nonsense. I've even had a few black friends.

However the same can not be said of my mother, while she is not as open about her racist tendencies as the rest of my family they are much much stronger. So much so that she has seriously considered moving to the same town as one of the larger kkk factions headquarters, for that reason.

is it normal my mother is this racist.

    My mom is a racist too. This is what happened last Thanksgiving:

    Mom: Do you know why we white people have so many pets?
    Me: No. Why?
    Mom: Because it's illegal to own people anymore. Thanks Lincoln!

    Wow you guys are racist... I only tell racist jokes and say pretty racist stuff but for fun. I don't actually dislike any race... I don't think it's normal for your mom to be that racist either...

    No I'd say it sounds like some kind of hang up at that point. Other races are to be expected, their all over the place, severe racism like that is pretty rare.

    You think blacks have it bad see what happens to aboriginals in Canada and how they got and we're treated. Most white parents in Canada try to make their kids hate first Nation people.

    Racism is not cool but unfortunately its worldwide and some people are stuck with the idea or was taught by their parents parents that this way is "right" and "acceptable" but this isn't the way it should be. Why cant we all just get along.

    Also i don't get why race has to be asked for every little thing we do. In the worldy world as far as knowing what language to speak with or some form of communtion i dont get why they asked white black asian etc on aplications tests etc . I feel once everthings been said and done it transposes specifically for said race.
    This is just my opinion. Most likely I'm wrong. Lol
