Is it normal my friends are always going to jail?

I posted the story yesterday about my friend who chopped up his dad, which was a rather extreme case, but it seems every week or so one of my friends goes to jail. I am about to go have dinner with another friend and tomorrow she is going away for 4 months. Common themes are drugs, dui, fighting and theft. Once in a while something more extreme like murder or armed robbery. I would say about 80-90% of my friends have been to jail, prison or the psych ward. Personally I have not done over 3 days.

    So what you are saying is that all your friends are losers, right? Sounds like you are a very poor judge of character. However you are choosing your friends, you sure are doing SOMETHING wrong. Time to really analyze your life and get the hell away from these losers.

      I have not yet figured out if it is my generation, where I live, or just who I meet.
      One theory I have heard is that 80''s kids are fucked up because they were raised thinking everything is fine and we didnt have to work hard for anything, and the the economy crashed when we became adults, creating a society of bad work ethic, laziness and crime. I am really not sure, but it seems my generation is extremely dysfunctional. It is also possible that it has to do with my life revolves around the local music scene and musicians tend to have problems. Still I do not know.

        Every generation has it's dysfunctional elements, that's not unique to yours.
        As for musicians, they do tend to be much more left brain people, but crime isn't normally associated with artistic talent, other than drug use.
        You seem to realize the problem, so now it's a matter of doing what's necessary for you to stay out of jail, right?

        It's all going downhill anyway, society and civilization need to reset themselves every few hundred years or so and it's eventually gonna happen again as it always does.

        That being said if you don't wish to end up in jail yourself you should seek friends not so apt to breaking the law.

    Try not having such crazy acquaintances. Because they don't sound like friends if they put u at risk like that with their behavior. They don't sound like the kind of people u wanna have around. Why don't you go find yourself a nice Jewish girl and settle down lol
