Is it normal my friend is in an international relationship with an englishman?

She's been with him a little over a year now and she claims she's in love. He came over 5 times now and is coming over again but I don't think she should be with him. Long distance is pathetic, she should just find someone else around here in America instead of England. She must have wasted so much money too, why waste money? That's gross. She could be saving it up for later on in life or move out and get an apartment but she just uses it on him/he uses it on her to visit. How stupid right? is it normal at all? England is far away for a reason.

You have a bad attitude! Jealousy is seeping right through your pores, like acid.
You criticise her happiness, because you can't find happiness like that in your own life.

There are planes and automobiles for a reason too.

Love doesn't know geographical boundaries. Have you considered being happy for your friend instead of being critical? As your friend, she'd probably love to have your support rather than your disapproval.

I'm in Ohio near Amish country (i.e. middle of nowhere) and one of my quite smart and normal friends married a guy from Argentina, and moved down there with him for a while and now they both life here. It can work just fine. Dating isn't about sex for everyone, and a conversation over the phone or online is just as good as one in person.

I know an American woman who married a British man and they have a 14 year old son and a very happy relationship.
