Is it normal my friend cannot take recommendations?

I have a good friend who point blank refuses to take my advice on everything. I say she should check out heavy metal, she says no. I tell her about this new clothing brand, she says she doesn't do new.

I know for a fact she hates popular things - kind of a hipster but in a good way - but I was just wondering if you guys have anything like this.

    Some people are just too lazy to look into things that aren't their interests.

    Personally, if someone gives me a link to a song I'll listen to it. If I don't like it within 20 seconds I either skip around to get to the 'good' part or just exit.

    She doesn't have to appreciate the same music you do or enjoy the same clothes that you do. Most of the times people say that I should listen to a band that's so fucking far off everything else that I enjoy and it's only a VERY limited amount of people that I allow to send me links to music.
