Is it normal my cousin turned out lesbian?

I generally believe that people are born gay or straight depending on things like hormones or whatever chemicals run through your body. But do you think a person can be made to turn gay?
I have a cousin I had not seen for a bout 6 years, she was abused sexually and physically as a child and lived in a tumultuous house where her moms boyfriends/customers abused her. Fast forward to today, I saw her at a funeral and shes living with a girl and dressing like a goth femme lesbian.
Aside from the gay people whoa re obviously gay from a young age (often exhibit female qualities for men and vice versa) I know a few girls who are abused and say they are now lesbians. Do you think they just don't want to be hurt by men anymore and are not truly gay as in attracted to women?

I suppose it depends on the person. Given the horrible abuse she's survived I certainly can't blame her and neither should you! Better for her to be a femme Goth lesbian than a stupid skank whore like her mother. Just accept her for who she is and don't worry about whether she's gay or straight.

It's not your position to question whether she's "truly" gay or not. You fucking shut up and you fucking accept her for who she is, because that's what family does.

Wow, who made you the god of IIN? I thought it was an interesting hypothesis and have actually known more girls living in gay relationships because of mistreatment by guys, than those who were born gay. They are still attracted to men, but they are afraid and mistrustful, so they remain in gay relationships. They admit it and agree.
Your attack is totally unwarranted, IMO and perhaps you might want to take your own advice and; "fucking shut up" and "accept" the poster's right to post whatever he or she pleases!

Im not against gays or anything. I was surprised because she never showed the usual signs of being gay until she was over 20. My best friend is gay and I knew since we were like 10.

        What are the "usual signs"?

        Actually, there aren't any

It's "normal" for her, that's all that matters, and maybe one day she'll have a relationship with a man and that'll be "normal" for her at that time.

I've seen stats showing that the proportion of Lesbians who've been abused as kids is exactly the same as other women, so maybe that'a a cause with your cousin and maybe not - does it matter?

Nobody knows why some people are gay and some straight and some bi and some asexual: again, why does it matter?

To know for sure your cousin would have to take a 10 page written exam and you'd have to get a drop of her blood to test how it reacts on a petri dish in the presence of semen.

Other than that... it's all just guesswork.

    Really depends on the person.

Before we can reach confirmation on whether this is normal or not we need video proof of her engaging in sexual activity with a partner- to verify that her homosexuality is authentic of course! If you wouldn't mind sending me some photos as well, I would be able to diagnose your sister accurately.
