Is it normal my boyfriend wants to be a doctor but no one wants him to be one?

His Father says don't, it's too hard, his friends say it's crazy, my mom says he shouldn't, etc.

He's a straight A student finished his bachelors...So what's the problem? is it normal they are all like NOOOO it's silly, don't!!!

    I worked for three families in the last few years. All three mums and one of the dads were doctors. None of them wanted their kids to go into medicine because they know they will basically have no life of their own.

    Talk about owing a large fortune before you ever earn a dime. He'll be 45 before he pays off his school loans; is that any way to live?
    As a child from a doctor's family, I also would advise against it. Especially in country with socialized medicine.
    There isn't anything noble about being overworked and underpaid.
