Is it normal my boyfriend never pays for my stuff?

I've been dating him three months now and you'd think by now he'd pay for more. Well we go out to dinner and he pays all the time for both of us but with everything else, he doesn't. When we go to a movie, he only pays for our tickets and not the food. Like he said do you want anything and I said get me a popcorn and a water while in the theater and he asked me for the money! So I had to pay for my food. Then when we were at a street fair and I saw some really cute handbag for just $25, I hinted about it and he told me I should get it but NEVER offered to pay. I even had to mail my letters and forgot stamps and he says he'll buy me some if I give him the money.

Seriously?? Then it was my birthday and all he did was buy me flowers and a stupid card he HAND wrote on LINED paper like a weirdo! If you're going to write, use decent paper! is it normal he's so cheap?

    I'll answer this honestly for the sake of those reading.

    It sounds like he pays for quite a bit...more than his fair share. I understand chivalry, but he doesn't need to pay for your personal things. The only time this would be acceptable would be if the two of you were married and had a joint account. Or if it were a special occasion, but that goes both ways.

    Your boyfriend sounds like mine and theres nothing wrong with that. I always offer to pay for snacks while he buys the tickets. He even wrote me a ghetto birthday card with green colored pencil on graph paper and I still have it in my drawer :) you want that handbag, get it yourself. He is not required to buy you things.

    guys should pay US what we want. we do all the cooking cleaning taking care of your children all the stress involved with that for free. the least he can do is give me a shopping spree, end of story

    Wow, that's kind of rude of you to expect him to pay for everything for you. The food isn't a problem, and I doubt you needed that handbag. I understand the part with your birthday, but you should appreciate that he wrote it from his heart, not some cheesy store-bought card.

    To all the men moaning women should pay for stuff me and my friends split bills or take turns of paying
    However if someonw invites you out it is implied they are paying. If a man has a job and asks a girl out its implied he will pay.
    On the other hand hinting is something im against if you want something get it domt expect your boyfriend to just buy you things if you gey him nothing
