Is it normal my bf hasn't responded to my msgs while in i'm on vacation?

Im on vacation and this is the first time me and my boyfriend are so far apart. I don't have Internet all the time so we can't talk much. Atm I am staying at a hotel with Internet and I told my bf we can talk for the few days I'm here. He said he would check his email all the time to see if i sent him a msg. I sent him an email early today but he hasn't responded, and I sent him a Skype MSG but he hasn't been online and he told me he would keep it on. is it normal he hasn't responded or am I just worrying for nothingnothing? I miss him so much :'( btw we have been going out for almost a year so it's a serious relationship.
