Is it normal for members to have a meltdown one day...? and then in a grand farewell, make mean posts about the intelligence of other IINers and talk shit about the site?

Oh. I guess I don't know who Lesley is. I probably know of Lesley in some capacity it's just not ringing a bell right now.
I cba to go through all the names she PMd be under. ...she was obsessed with Harry Potter (Snape), pokemon, various cartoons, abortion, adoption, not wanting more than one child per family, posting/spamming long rants about her wish to be a tyrant (she thinks she's benevolent, but has the political and social understanding of a squashed toadstool) and was obsessed with her dog, a schnauzer. She wished violence, rape, murder and agonising death against anyone who dared have a different opinion to her, and their families. Sje hated me after I admonished her for wishing miscarriage and death against another user.
But people will continue to tell ME I'm an awful person...
I thought that guy VinnyB had a meltdown recently.
Edit: I don't know what set him off. At least I think it was him. He was one of the more intelligent users, or at least he was well spoken.
Is this just your assumption or do you KNOW it was VinnyB? I know him better than most users here. He's intelligent and awesome, he wouldn't do something like that. Perhaps there is more than one Vinny. He hasn't been active on here in probably months
Idk. I used to PM with him a lot when he had Gold. Then I got Gold and messaged him, but I never got a response. I guess he just got bored with the site, and I don't blame him. I think he was the most insightful and astute person on this entire site. Everything that came out of his mouth was intelligent and well thought out.
Well that's what I thought. Last I knew Vinny was an intelligent, respectable guy but this post came up recently (probably deleted) well written and commenters said it was vinny and op didn't deny it and vinny used to post a lot but not lately.

All of this drama is 100% my fault. I'll explain my reasoning below, but before I do, I just wanna say that this was a hugely douchey thing to do on my part. It was a total bullshit move to accuse a user who was nothing but civil, logical, and fantastic-advice-giving of being behind an alty troll account, but I wasn't really thinking before typing at the time (I'm sure many on here have done the same), as said user attacked multiple people that I feel didn't deserve any flack...and I'm weirdly protective of anyone getting hassled that doesn't deserve it, which makes me transform magically to my middle school self, leading to my own "meltdowns," so to speak.
Anyways, I had no right to assume it was vinny, but there were a few reasons. I read way too much, and it causes me to pick up on diction. Everyone has words or phrases that they habitually use, or punctuation that they overuse or fail to use, words that they habitually misspell, formulaic systems to their logic. I can't help but notice this stuff, even though I don't intend to (it kinda violates the anonymity of the site).
Anywho, that user employed very formulaic logic, sorta like a map of deductive reasoning...almost like an "if;then" theorem, working off of the assumptions of whomever he was arguing with, disproving each point with evidence. He also accidentally interchanged the words advice and advise. He also ended quite a few arguments using the same phrase, "you are entitled to your opinion"
So, I asked if it was him on one thread; all of the comments were deleted. I asked on another thread; my comment was deleted. I asked on another thread; my comment was allowed to stand, but not acknowledged or denied. After all of this happened his account was promptly deactivated/banned, which could have merely been a coincidence.
Again, I'm only explaining myself so people can get what I was on about. I think I was totally wrong in accusing someone...it was just not cool, and I'm sorry Vincent, of Florida, for being a cunt : D
Anyways, that's the story. As far as meltdowns go, a lot of people have em here sporadically. Sometimes I get pissy and lose my patience. It hard not to; as detached as I am from the site, sometimes someone says that one thing that sets you off. It's the internet; I shouldn't care, but I'm human, and sometimes I fail at that.
but there's also people here with obvious mental problems that meltdown all the fuckin time...and I hope those people get the help they need.

I wrote the post that you are talking about. You called me Vinny in your last response there, and I didn't understand what you meant and didn't really think about it. If you said Vinnyb I would have. I don't comment very much here, mostly just read. That's because I think I give lousy advice myself. There were to people who I really enjoyed reading that had recently left at that time, Vinnyb was actually one and the other was JD777. I hadn't seen anything from either of them in at least a month by the time I wrote that post. I came to the site just a little bit before both of them and was disappointed to see them leave. The post was really supposed to be about how when good people join they get driven away by the general level of stupidity that goes on here, and not really intended as an attack on the regulars, who are not the cause of most of it. There are also others here whose advice I respect. But you seemed to take my post so literally and I was in a pussy mood anyway that I was having a bit of fun with you following my logic stream to try and make it make literal sense. So I was being a bit of a douche myself. Anyway, I accept your apology and offer my own.
Thank you for sharing your thought process in an insightful, easy to follow, and descriptive way. I would wonder if contra-indications are also useful for identification. I suspect they could be important because a user might copy someone else's style to add confusion.

Hmm, maybe a week or 2 ago? There was a very well written post shitting on the intelligence of the IIN community and a commenter signified it was vinny and anonymous didn't deny it. I haven't noticed a vinny comment since then but that might just mean I missed them.
I guess I missed that. Someone had told me that he had been posting under another name and causing fights, but while I trust that user's judgement, I didn't quite understand how they came to that conclusion as the comment had been deleted and Udi has fucked up my email nonotifications yet again and been ignoring my emails for over a month now.
I see that you have the insightful talent of identifying which users masquerade under which Alts. A commendable skill indeed. Can you share with us a few pointers about the process.
