Is it normal love isn't the same as i get older...

I remember the feeling of love and lust being stronger when I was younger. I remember being 21 and feeling madly in love with someone. Just seeing that person would send shivers through me, my heart would race every time they sent me a text and I was in absolute heaven just going out clubbing and spending the night with them afterwards.

"I can still picture her standing there on the dance floor and I remember the feeling walking over to her, knowing she was mine. It was bliss"

Back in those days this was a pretty common feeling, I had a few relationships in which these feelings came up. I've not felt anything like that in years, in fact Ive not felt anything for anyone in a pretty long time.

The weird thing is if I was to bump into any one of these girls from my past I can imagine that bringing up old feelings of excitement and lust.

Its an age thing right? Everything seemed to have a different feel to it back in them days.

In my view young love is bittersweet, melodramatic and fleeting but has alot of fond memories attached to it. I'm reminded of the time I saw an elderly frail old man at the train station being helped down the stairs by his younger (but not by much) wife. When they got to the bottom of the stairs he kissed her on the cheek said "I love you sweetheart" and they walked off together holding hands. That, to me is love, that's what its all about. Love through adversity beats teenage love hands down. Don't despair just adapt to love in a different territory, a different period of your life. You will find it just as rewarding.
