Is it normal large portions of food make me depressed?

Is it normal That when i put a large portion of food on my plate or someone else puts a large portion of food on my plate that i feel very depressed and bad about it? I believe its because i feel like i eat too much and am fat and also because i hate not being able to help all the people in the world who doesnt get enough food. What do you think?

  • This might sounds crazy... But perhaps you should avoid eating large portions of food?

You need to sack up and handle that plate. It's all out war when I get my plate stacked up.

Absolutely. What you're afraid of is gluttony, which is excessive eating which leads to waste. "Eating everything on your plate" won't help anything, but portion control can and will.

Your fat? Then it's normal cause your guilty about being a disgusting pig that steals food from painfully starving Ethiopian kids.

Yeah seems normal. I don't really get depressed from large portions but I do feel bad about eating too much. Plus your reasoning why you feel bad is understandable and more people should think about such things more often.

I hate to see food being wasted, too. In richer countries up to a third of all food gets thrown away. This has a real impact on food prices worldwide. If companies and households bought and wasted less, food would be more plentiful and affordable globally.

Just tell them before they serve it up that you're not that hungry so don't want a large portion. It will always do them for lunch the next day, or you.
