Is it normal its harder to get a gf than a bf?

Bi girl here trying a lot of dating sites to find my first girlfriend.
I thought it was going to be a piece of cake. Not trying to be vain or stereotypical but I'm quite attractive looking & looking through the lesbian community in my country is small, so a better chance of finding someone.
I have had chicks interested but no offence, its like I always get the unattractive ones hitting me up, whether it be guys or girls.
How do I actually find an attractive gf?? It seems much harder than I thought. Most the chicks on Tinder wrote that they're mainly looking for friends. I have asked the odd lass out to see if our personalities click, but they don't seem keen to. Or they just make it difficult for me, like they'll say they're busy working or something... What to do?
