Is it normal it makes me sad to see all the racism in america today?
specifically I mean the race riots in several places of America after white police officers killed unarmed African American men and the resulting riots where minorities demanded an apology for law enforcement and authorities constantly unfairly targeting them. I don't necessarily agree with the destruction of property part but people have a right to express their frustrations with the system which has obviously turned a blind eye to those who find themselves on the butt end of systemic prejudice and institutionalized inequality. I'm not black but I feel bad for black people. They've been in America for generations, longer than a lot of white people who came as immigrants, and yet they still have to struggle to be accepted in American society. Despite the Civil Rights movement, despite Obama getting elected 7 years ago, we still have to deal with these racial issues. If we can't respect each other and have the dignity to treat others as equals then we deserve to be the laughing stock of the whole world. Just my opinion.
