Is it normal isn't fun anymore :(

I've been seeing posts like this since I first started here 3 years ago.

Majority of the new people think this is a porn chat room. I feel like someone should tell them the truth...

I go through the motions now :\

For me though I feel like it's me not the place, I used to help people, and enjoy it, now I can't help myself or even have the will to help myself let alone others, but that didn't stop me from staying because I like a lot of the people here, problem is I never really have much to say anymore, and I care way, way too much about what people might think of me, so some of the time I have nothing to say, some of the time I type something out then loose the will and delete it all and other times I write it then delete it straight away

I still check iin and use it but less and less to the point where I feel I'll stop, and I've said that before but I was trying to leave, now it just feels like I'm kind of drifting slowly, less interested in checking in even though I still want to be interested, even though I still want to be part of the community like I used to, a bigger part of me just feels like I can't for some reason and an even bigger part of me just doesn't even think to check in sometimes

It's hard to put your finger on what the problem is here. There's loads of amazing users, who do give amazing advice, and make like these great witty insightful comments at times, but so many users like that get so burned out on the site that they rarely even do that anymore. And a lot of said users just don't make posts, so it's rare to see a really nice, or fun, or thought provoking post, and when you do, it gets buried so fast by spam that it's gone within 2 hours.

So you get left with a lot of posts that are repetitive and just stupid and spammy wanking shit, and the people that would offer great stuff just get despondent and sarcastic, and all your left with is slews of comments by new users and people that will use any forum they can to go all soap-boxy...

There's people here with great input to offer, but nobody bothers to do it consistently...it might be the way the website is set up, the quality of the posts, the moderation...who knows? But yeah, I agree. I just take breaks from the site...so I don't get too bored with it.

I have been coming here very little the last few months. Partly because I have already asked about 500 questions and have already asked most the things I wanted to.
Also partly because of the reporting and also because the same dumb shit keeps getting asked. I have been disappointed with the repeatitive content lately and have begun to move on.

I agree that IIN is no longer very much fun. But, it's all we have, even if it feels a bit like a death march.

I've been pretty damn sure that there's been someone thumbing down and up certain comments with multiple accounts. Interesting that it's not just me that's assumed this.

I kind of agree with you though. IIN isn't what it used to be. :'(

Maybe iin isn't what it was.. but im sure these users who thumb down and make 300 posts of the same thing are looking for attention and they are half getting it :(
So I say all the amazing users should stick together and ignore the other cuntbags!

Maybe use it less and find other hobbies? No point wasting time here if you don't enjoy it. Just answer the questions you want and then do something else?

This place has sort of lost it's charm. I told myself I was going to leave last month, yet here I am, still here. I kind of miss when there were fun discussions going on and I was actually learning new things from other users. Lately this place seems like a ghost town. I'm kind of hoping that changes since this place sometimes goes in cycles. Also, while a part of me is happy I found this place over three years ago, another part of me wishes I never found it. Then again back then I was actually happy with no cares in the world. lol

It's becoming all about attacking posters personally, rather than a discussion of the OP's post. From what I've read, isn't that why many came here from other sites; to get away from that crap?
Just posting "you are a douche" and thumbing someone down is hardly the intent of this site, IMO.
I also comment much less than I used to, and find many posts less comment worthy. I'm sick to death of "I hate my mom" posts, which are so one sided and childish, in most cases.
For those honestly seeking help, I am completely at a loss why they don't search their question, rather than posting the same old thing, over and over again. That does get so tiring even if it is a serious inquiry.
