If you don't follow the news. UCLA fraternity/ sorority members are under fire for throwing a "Kanye Western" themed party. Students attended the party dressed as Kanye and Kim West. This was more then likely meant to be a fun event. Women stuffed there butts to look like Kim and men put on Yezzy glasses to look like a rappers. Some painted there faces black to look more Kanye.

This was a party that all colors were invited to. Yet enter the race card. Racism had nothing to do with the party.

Do Japanese get offended by every non Japanese who dress as ninjas?.
Do Mexicans get offended when non Mexicans eat burritos?.
Do Iranians get offended when non Iranians play the setar?.

NO!.

Where all part of the same race. The human race.

When people play the race card in this manner it makes me wonder whose really doing the segregating.

    It's not racist at all. If anything it reinforces Kim and Kanye's status & popularity.

    I think only when people refer to Taco Bell as "Mexican" food.

    As it's traditionally an instrument from Hindu culture, I think this is the point where you stepped in the racism and tracked it all over the carpet.

    Besides, everyone knows "black face" is racist no matter what reason you're doing it. Stop trying to be such a hipster and go against the grain. Being politically correct is awesome.

    I'm guessing it was the blackface element that people objected to..?
    These days blackface is nearly always considered pretty racist...
    It used to be done by performers who perpetuated very racist stereotypes. So you gotta realise the historical context that basically makes it a symbol of a very, very racist time.

    Nothing is wrong with admitting there are different races. And yeah, it's annoying and doesn't kind of distorts what racism actually is?
