Is it normal is it considered a miscarriage or stillborn after five months

Lost the baby at five months a week an a half ago on the toilet.I feel kind of numb inside. My boyfriend is great about it but he is hurting too. I feel awkward I don't what to say when people ask me what happened.

Whatever you decide to call it, you're entitled to grieve about this. Personally I'd be calling it a stillbirth because you'll probably get more support: lots of people think miscarriage is a minor event, which it would not be that late in your pregnancy (or at any stage for some people).

I hope you both have support from outside the relationship: your feelings of numbness are normal but will almost certainly change in time.

    Take care of yourself

If you are unsure you could always say we lost the baby.

Stillborn is after 20 weeks. Miscarriage is before. You're right on the cusp.

Sorry for your loss you should still speak to a medical professional just to help you deal.
