Is it normal if i know i'm cleverer than the majority of the internet

Everyday, my self-esteem is more and more sure of itself as I read more and more stupid things.

Sometimes, I reply to people, but a lot of the time I don't have the time and so move on with the knowledge that I am more intelligent than yet another person.

Not entirely sure what was the intent behind your comment, EccentricWeird, but I upvoted just because I thought it was funny.

        1) Use of cleverer rather than more clever.

        2) Thinking clever is the same as intelligent.

        3) Anthropomorphizing your self esteem.

        4) Comparing yourself to the Internet.

You might be smart. But you're probably not as smart as you think. Although you could become so. You clearly care about intellect and that's great. So go frequent more intelligent areas of the Internet. Try going to YouTube and looking up an Intelligence Squared debate or a Q&A debate. Watch lectures by Lawrence Krauss or Neil DeGrasse Tyson. I have an IQ of 138 on the standard scale(anyone saying they are over 145 is lying as it caps out at 145 and you have to take a special test to go further). That puts me in the top .5%. But watching these men speak humbles me.

A good list of people to YouTube:
        Sam Harris
        Lawrence Krauss
        Richard Dawkins
        Neil DeGrasse Tyson
        Christopher Hitchens
        Bill Nye

Did you really just use the word "anthropomorphizing" in your mini-speech?

I completely agree with you in the fact that OP hasn't delivered him/herself as the brightest, though the fact that you went to the extent of not only using a Googled 18 letter word, but also of going through the trouble of desperately trying to make yourself seem credible through online IQ tests and Youtube is just a bit pathetic.

Simplicity is honest intelligence. Don't try so hard.

Also the IQ tests I took were proctored(supervised in case that's another Googled word in your mind) but I do appreciate you demonstrating my point to the OP that nobody cares.

It's alright if you feel the need dwindle others down to their expense but the fact that you needed three separate comments to perfect your comeback is a pretty sad thing as well, my friend. It's also okay if it took you a week to think of your oh-so insulting reply.

And while I sat there thinking who the hell replied multiple times to my comment on here, I honestly can say you are one of the most desperate people I've ever encountered. It practically oozes out of your comments.

It's actually sad that, to you, anthropomorphizing is a word you have to Google.

Also as a general rule don't brag about intellect on the Internet. Even if you're as smart as you say you are nobody will believe you. I listed my IQ on the previous reply and it is accurate. But I guarantee about 80% of the readers will think I'm full of shit. The other 20%? They don't care anyway.

Well, two things come to mind when I read this. The first is that you do not frequent "smart" parts of the Internet and the second is that, often as not, less intelligent people are more likely to spout their unintelligent words out for anyone to hear than someone with more foresight might.

There's a "he vs him" rule. If the answer would be "he", then "who" would be correct. If the answer would be "him", then "whom" would be correct

As for this situation, the answer to "For who/whom?"could obviously be "For him." rather than "For he." So, whom would be correct.

Ironically, I'm not very good at explaining grammar. So, I'm not even sure if that made sense. x.x

You can't judge someone based off of a few online interactions or what they post on facebook or other online forums. I always try to remind myself of that, because I too post the most retarded shit that no one cares about. We all have that inner poo brain mentality, whether you like it or not. You are no better than anyone else that steps foot onto this earth. Someone's gotta knock you a few pegs, before you get your ass kicked for that kind of attitude.

I like your attitude towards things, I'm just saying someone needs to effectively knock you off your high horse, so that you feel more inclined to socialize and share your personality with the world. I am by no means trying to insult you or talk down to you. More people like you need to appear on this site, because I am starting to lose interest as well as many others who used to be here .. I don't want to leave, though. I always come back to see if someone posted something clever or funny. ^____^

        • I'm not sure why my attitude is to be admired.
I know what you mean; it's an isolating experience. I can be perfectionistic in regards to people but this post was addressing racism ... horoscopes ... among other things.
Yes, this site can be really interesting. Then again, it can be outright disturbing...

I agree. I've spent countless hours on this site. Those late nights when I find something so odd and hilarious. Have you seen the "eye of the tiger" post? It's quite amazing how creative people get and I always end up with a headache laughing so hard at some of the toilet humor. I just take this site for what it is, knowing that there will always be that occasional gem that will get me hooked on this site again. Horoscopes and racism can blow me. XD My best friend loves those horoscopes and they are literally the most boring and inaccurate sources to predict anything. Nothing is in the stars. I believe that we all make our own decisions and fate or destiny is just a myth. Also, I admire your attitude, because you have every right to express your self esteem to the world. I encourage this, but never look down on others, because you are more intelligent. My boyfriends best friend is a gentle giant who is a little slow and he is one of the best people to walk into my life. Try to give everyone at least one chance. You won't regret it and you'll learn a lot more from other people's mistakes and experiences. :D ^___^

Go visit the smarter parts of the internet then. Like blogs of professors, legit science websites, art websites etc. and try to think deeper. The world is filled with never ending knowledge. Go take a look. The internet is cleverer than you think.
