Is it normal if i hate my period this much !?

BTW I'm 23 so ya I'm used to it but that doesn't stop me from hating it so much !! I know who loves it right ? But I think my hatred is just on a whole other level. It just gets in the way of every fucken thing from working to working out to what you're wearing to what you're eating ugh ! I know its only a week thank god but it does feel like its forever. The moment you wanna do something and then remember youre on it, it kills everything. You know the only thing that I can't relate to other girls with while they're on their period are the mood swings. I know ironic...but I'm serious. I've never experienced such mood swings while I'm on my period. I never get so moody or like everyone likes to call it "extra bitchy." Sometimes I think its a myth or people just exaggerate too much. But I'm the same while I'm on my period. Oh another thing is craving sweets. Im not really a sweets person and having my period is no different. But I definitely fucken hate it like why do we have to go through this? (Yes I know why I just wish I didn't and can easily get rid of it). My favorite little cousin just got hers, its her first year on it and I feel so bad for her. I've seen her on it before and she's just miserable. Ill tell her some things to you know feel better about it but I won't go too far cause I don't wanna lie to her...its a fucken mistake I really wanna tell her.

What helped me was taking magnesium citrate every morning 500 mg and calcium 400 mg plus vitamin D 1000 IU every night. This relaxes the muscles and helps with the cramping. Also, ibuprofen can be taken for a couple of days about two weeks before it starts and it will cut the pain during it. Of course you can take it during and it is helpful too. Elevating your legs feels great, and you need an extra hour of sleep. And you need time to change things during the school day, but they don't give you time. I used to bleed through for the first two or three days. Kotex Super Plus is the best brand for heavy days.

If you drink a lot of water while on your period, it will make your flow lighter.

If it's really getting in the way of your life that much, I highly recommend using a form of hormonal birth control. It helps SO much - this coming from a gal with PCOS.

Thank god I haven't had my periods for last 10 years as I had hysterectomy about 10 years ago because they were so bad with the cramps and continuous bleeding ....sometimes 1 week and sometimes 2 weeks...though not as bad as charli m (poor you!).

Though the idiot doctor asked me when I had the op if I wanted to have more children...he already knew from my medical records that my kids were 17 and 19 and that I was 45 years old.

I don't think any women likes it!
But you can take certain birth control pills to avoid having periods or skip the placebos. Im doing it and I haven't had a period in a few years. No missing it either.

I don't like mine either. I get cramping that's so bad that I'll get nauseous, vomit, or in rare situations pass out. Unfortunately, when I'm in pain, I get really angry at people. It's also unpredictable. Sometimes it likes to skip 2-3 months. I can even recall getting it two times in a month once. Though this month it was a light and easy one. No cramps, no ridiculously heavy flows, or nausea. I wish they were all like that.

Have you ever got tested for any disorder? That fucking sucks. I can totally relate - though my cramps dont get quite that bad.

I would go to a doctor, but I don't have the money at this time to pay for it. Maybe when I get more cash, I'll get checked out.

One week? Pfft. That's nothing. Ive had for 10 weeks once. Intense pain. I'll spare you the gory details.

Yes, it's normal to hate it.
