Is it normal if i don't like perky people?

Perky people come off as fake to me or just plain annoying. Or maybe I am just bitter because my bf seems like to me being cheerful and happy yay all the time when Im not like that. Doesnt mean I carry a sad face all day but I dont have to be cheery and loud all the time to show that I'm a happy and positive person. For ex, when we take pics he wants me to like jump and say hooray, thats just not in me. Can I just pose and smile? It really urks me how he gets all annoyed that I'm not as perky as he would like me to be. But besides that, I do find perky people annoying who are usually girls. I just see how they're loud and obnoxious like is that really necessary? or do they want attention? then they look at civilized human beings like me and think I'm depressed or boring just cause I'm not loud and obnoxious.

Just because your "perky" doesnt mean you're automatically fake.

Thats for assumptious fools to think.

Besides the boyfriend part, I swear I could have written this question myself! I've never been one of those people that has a smile plastered on my face at all times. In fact, I used to get, "Are you ok? You look sad or depressed. Is something wrong?" A LOT when I was younger and it bothered me so much because I wasn't sad or depressed or emo or whatever. I wouldn't say I have bitchy resting face, but I just don't have that natural smile that so many people seem to have, which is probably why I've never had a large group of friends. I prefer to have a few close friends and I like to spend a lot of time alone (mostly because I have a chronic pain syndrome called Fibromyalgia that most people can't understand and try to give me advice on what I should do because X, Y, Z worked for their friend or relative with FM, but they don't understand that not every case is the same or responds the same to all meds). When I was younger and worked in retail clothing stores I found it super difficult to communicate with customers because I am not a fake and perky person. I'm the type that prefers to get straight down to business and get shit done rather than trying to make friendly conversation while working. Of course some people, like your boyfriend, will try to make you feel bad about it, but there is nothing wrong with you. Since I can't work because of my painful disability, it actually makes me happy that I don't have to put on this fake personality, but if I were able to work, I'd prefer not to work with the general public because of this. I'd rather be able to get to know my coworkers and work closely with them where I don't have to pretend to be all happy all the time! When you have Fibromyalgia, you don't sleep well and are exhausted all the time, so putting on a fake smile and pretending to give a shit about random strangers is even more exhausting and not worth it. Doing that would be like selling my soul to the Devil!

If it comes natural for girls to get excited and be "perky" then thats great.

Fake perky people really should be smacked but sometimes they are naturally bubbly. I don't understand these people at all but whatever. Takes all kinds

Some of them are phony and some aren't if they are just pretending they are probly doing it for a reason they think is good if its genuine then thats just who they are so either way its not about bothering you. Judging ppl you don't know or don't know well makes it sound like you wouldn't be very fun to hang out with.
