Is it normal if i can empathize with someone i don't like?

Okay well the person I can empathize with is more of a celebrity. Im talking about Selena Gomez and her trouble with Justin Beiber. Were both the same age and fell in love at the same time. My dude is like my justin beiber (even tho i think my dude has a better heart than justin but hey only Selena knows). Right now, we're both trying to get over these guys but its so hard and people just fail to understand why when they haven't gone through this. Its like ew Justin Beiber? But who the fuck knows...although I never liked Selena, she seems like a smart and well-rounded girl so there has to be something about Justin that we prob don't get to see. But anywho, the point is I can empathize with her 100%. Her new song, "What the heart wants" came out at the right time. Wow, its like she sang my heart out. Its what Ive been trying to explain to people why its not easy to let go of this guy. I recently read an article about them, and they mentioned how they're not official even though they look like it, just like what people say about me and him. We're not official but we act like a couple and it confuses everyone. And just like she mentioned in the article, that now she is putting an effort to letting him go, is the same place where Im at right now; Im finally putting an effort to gradually letting him go but my heart is still present for him, so its not like im totally giving him up but I am giving my heart a break (isnt that Demi Lavoto?). So yeah, when I see Selena, I see me. And when I see them back together, I have hope in me and him staying together. I kind of hope they end up together forever so I know me and my dude will end up together.I recommend her song btw, if you're going through this too. She literally speaks for me. The song itself isnt exactly my taste but its good and the lyrics make it better.
Its like can the four of us just go on a double date to couples therapy please?
