Is it normal if a guy initiates contact everyday with an ex he recently dumped?

My ex has been initiating conversations with me every single day for the last week and tries to make the conversations go on for as long as possible. He isn't romantic or flirty, just friendly.

I just try to be friendly back and don't mention anything about the break up. Neither does he.

We were together 3 years and he ended the relationship.

Why would he do this? Is this normal?

He just wants you to empty his balls. Once he's nutted over your face he'll leave you alone for a day or two

He's either trying to get back together or he just misses your friendship. You're better off just asking him why he's doing it.

It would be too much of a shock to his system to have had all of you and then none of you, so this way he is weaning him self of you so to speak. Smart move really. As time passes he'll be ok and move on .

I second this; I've been the guy "stretching out the friendship" after a breakup. It's not likely to be a sex thing unless he's clearly trying to make it a sex thing. It can be tremendously, painfully difficult to pull the plug on friendship after a long romantic relationship.

Take it as it goes, but it sounds like it'll be hard for him to pull back enough for a "normal" friendship. It may come down to having to, at least temporarily, end the friendship & cut off all contact with each other. If you decide to do it, be firm. You can be nice about it, but firmness is nonnegotiable. You have to take the long view on this stuff.

He could be lonely but he's definitely trying to keep you as an option. While you might enjoy the attention, it's better for you both if you just fade on him.
