I’d heard the word but it wasn’t until I was around 11 that they started teaching us about it in school. But in all honesty I wish I knew about it at 10 years old, as that was the age I started masturbating without realizing what I was doing. I’m just so fed up with this notion that you only start thinking about sex as teenagers, when in my case I think my sex drive went DOWN after I became a teenager!

    I agree, 11 is old to learn about sex and masterbation. Feelings of abnormality and guilt surrounding masterbation are common in young people who received poor sex education.

    I was 9 when my parents bought a book explaining the basics and left it in the living room for me to find. I think that was a more appropriate age.

    And yes I wish I knew earlier but even me didn't learn until 15 to 16 ish. My parents withdrew me from my schools sex ed because religion :(
