is it normal that i am a 23 year old male and the main things i watch on tv are cartoon shows? i don't watch sports,drama shows,or reality shows. i will watch a comedy tv show every now and then. but i watch cartoons about 98% of the time i am watching tv. does that make me weird? and women would you date a guy that mostly watches cartoons?
Yes it makes you weird. And no, women don't want a guy who watches freaking cartoons! Grow up!
I love cartoons because the characters are a lot more unique than the ones you find in most live-action series, in terms of both design and personality.
I just wish that they'd make cartoons that kept that type of uniqueness but that tackled more mature issues and had an ongoing plot and character development (think stuff like Game of Thrones or Doctor Who, but animated).
But sadly I don't know if animation will ever be taken seriously as a medium to tell mature stories; either the cartoons' creators have great ideas but have to dumb them down for kids in order to sell them to TV networks, or if someone wants to make an animated show for adults, then there's this unspoken rule that it has to be as ridiculous, raunchy and offensive as possible. Animation fans like me just can't catch a break.
I just started watching the old looney tunes cartoons again. There's always a danger going back to something you loved as a kid that you won't enjoy it as much as an adult and ruin the sacred memory. Well it has been the exact opposite! I enjoy looney tunes more as an adult as I did when I was a kid. They're so silly but they really make me laugh!
