Is it normal i want to upset people?

Read before commenting. I don't like making people upset just for no reason, but I think people need to get mad about certain things before they will take action preventing those things from happening.

We live in a very fucked up world and I think what I hate the most about humans is when they choose to ignore the state things are in.

So many people choose to be blind to awful things and like to pretend everything is ok.

As a musician I write a lot of songs about policies in the world and want to inform people of the worst.

Something I have wanted to do for my shows is have projections of real life horrors mixed in with some disturbing animations.

I want to force people to watch videos of people and animals getting tortured and abused. Videos of war and suffering. People ruining the world.

I want to shove those things in peoples faces and I want them to leave upset and disturbed, because unless people start getting angry nothing will be done about anything.

If it were up to me I would even make kids watch these things in school. The problem is that people don't want to be upset. They would rather ignore the horrors of the world and fool themselves it's ok. It's pathetic that so many people cannot even handle watching someone be tortured yet would not be willing to fight for the same things they are too weak to handle. Not everybody gets a choice about what happens to them or what they see. Life isn't about choices. I truly believe weakness is worse than evil.

I think what you're suggesting about the video footage is psychologically unhealthy. That being said, writing songs about these issues is a more appropriate way to express how you feel about "fucked up things in the world", as you put it.

Honestly, I feel you're looking at the world through a narrow scope. There are people out there who see the good in the world (which yes it does exist) and want to praise about this instead of the evil that does exist (yup it does, not denying it).

Respect other's point of view and don't push your negative vibes on others man

    • There are good things, but I feel the evils in the world, and more so the apathy, far outweighs anything good. It upsets me that people choose to ignore things they can change and I think the only way to make people care is to upset them, because when people are upset about things they usually want to change them.

I thought it was normal until you said weakness is worse than evil.

    • I can explain why I think that. I don't mean weaknesses that someone cannot help, such as someone in a wheel chair.
I am referring to the kind of weakness in somebody who refuses to stand up for what they care about.
Those of us who have things we care about must be willing to fight to all ends to protect those things.
For example a mother who has a boyfriend who abuses her children yet does nothing about it is no better than the abuser. In fact she is worse because it was her responsibility to protect them, which is the kind of weakness that is worse than evil. With evil you know what to expect, but when someone lets down who they were supposed to protect because they were weak it is even worse because more was expected from them.

“Indifference and neglect often do much more damage than outright dislike.”
I still don't agree with you, because the mother wouldn't have anything to protect the child from if the abuser wasn't evil in the first place.

        • It is each of our responsibilities to be willing to suffer for the better of what we are supposed to care about. To look away is to join the enemy.

You have choices in life. You can be really nice to everyone or you can be an asshole. If you want to write songs and be successful in your profession you will need to be the nice guy and not state it like it is. People don't really want to hear that. (as you may have found out by now)
What they want to hear is positive, uplifting words from your music.
I would suggest you give them what they want. They can get the "rest of the story" by listening to an broadcast on radio or tv. Good luck!

    • I am a nice guy. I also write comedy as well by the way.

I do realize people don't want to recognize bad things and that upsets me because apathy towards those topics only encourages it.

I'm not here to comfort people. I think laughing and enjoying what you can is important which is why I write comedy as well. Most comedians are depressed and tell jokes because it is necessary to laugh when there is so much that is wrong.

As far as the news is concerned, I am very against the media because it brainwashes people and does not tell the whole story, which is why I want to take matters into my own hands.

I like to write about things people don't want to hear because they need to but choose not to. I'm a humanitarian despite being somewhat misanthropic because I realize that even though people do horrible things they must learn to care about changing them.

As far as choices are concerned, yes we do have free will, but people do not choose to suffer. Most things that happen to us were not a choice.

I can be uplifting in a different way by saying, yes there are horrible things, but this is how we fix it.

Nobody wants to fix what they ignore though.
