Is it normal i want to raise my kids in the suburbs?

I was born and bred in Hong Kong, I think this city is noisy and busy, and so do any big cities.I can't take its hustle and bustle,so I wanna move out to a small town, suburb or a farm in western countries.

I'm just 18 ,but I don't want my sons and daughters live like me.

I wonder if there's anyone same as me in 21 century.

Is suburb as good as I think

big city 6
small town 19
suburb 22
farm 2
secluded 3

Farm, not far from a small town, but hours from the city.
You're far enough away from the booming metro hustle and bustle and the violence that goes with.
You learn a lot of basic life skills and learn self discipline through some required manual labor.
Farm kids usually learn to respect the land in a more rational way than city kids.
Also they learn where everything we eat comes from and typically have excellent values.

I'd say there are pros and cons:

    Pros:
    - You can know practically everyone there (debatable pro)
    - Less noise
    - more safe

    Cons:
    - Less diverse places, e.g. they may be closed minded to sexuality, race ect.
    - Less opportunity to have a very financially successful job e.g. In a city you're more able to become a big fancy manager of some company. (Debatable con)
    - There may be people you don't get on with but you'll still be seeing them a lot

    Just my opinion though.

small towns risk nothing exiting for the youth but drugs. farms and secluded areas can be boring. suburbs are full of rich people that are similar in both appearance and values. i view them as pretentious snobs who think they are better than everyone else and believe the city is "too dangerous and dirty" for their perfect children. cities risk bad influences but can expose your children to a racially financially religiously and sexually diverse population leading to an open mind and better people skills that will help them in both the working and social world. also i don't mean to judge or be biased. i grew up in a suburb and now live in a city.

Living in the middle of nowhere = no friends and nothing to do.

So I'd say small town or suburb, that way you get the best of both.
