And yes I have a thing for Japanese porn.

How my idea started was I'd be watching some hot models and I wanted to know what they were really saying, was it all dirty or polite or whatever.

And then I got thinking that perhaps a lot of English-speaking people might pay money for translations into English, and this job would have to be left to English-speaking persons as the Japanese porn makers seem not to care if others can understand (it's aimed for the Japanese market after all); in fact there are very few with subtitles or dubbing (I think there's a company called 3rd World that does some, but it's only their own titles).

is this normal? Get paid for my hobby so to speak?

    to be honest, i doubt the english-speaking people watching japanese porn care about what the people are saying.

    cos, unless it's an interesting plot then... it's pretty obvious usually ;)

      Actually I belong to 3 for-pay Japanese porn sites, and on the chat room boards that are provided a large number of English speaking men are asking why there are no subtitles.

      We do care, it's not just about the sex; they do interviews with the women, probably which consist of questions like "when did you find out that you were an exhibitionist and how does that strike the traditional Japanese culture (and do you care); are you considered an outcast or are you admired; do you have any sense of shame or do you think it's perfectly natural; what would you do if the cops caught you having sex in public?" etc.

    it's not that interesting. I speak a little japanese, enough to understand the 3-4 sentences they're saying in porn. Although I did ask my japanese friend to translate some hentai that acutlaly had some plot at some point. it wasn't that fascinating either.

    Learn Japanese just because it's an awesome language.

    Hey I want to the same! But not only for that. And also with gay porn. But basically the same thing. Anyways I know one porn site where admins translate dialouges if someone requests it so it might work ^^
