Is it normal i want to kiss my friend to see if i feel anything?

I've always been interested in guys, when I was much younger I had crushes on guys. I'm 21 and only ever made out with 2 guys! I didn't like it...
I have always wondered if I'm asexual due to never having the desire to want to have sex.
I have this friend and we were close. I know I loved her more than anything but I have always wondered if I had feelings for her...
I feel the only way I can know for sure is if we kissed. Problem is , is that we aren't close anymore & personally I would say we are barely friends. I have always had this burning desire to tell her how I feel and even if its not mutual or she rejects me, I still want to make out with her to actually see if I like it or feel something. I want to know if after all these years if I really am asexual or that I can feel a romantic connection. Can I ask her ? How would I go about this if I got the opportunity to see her again?

    I think you need to explore your sexual possibilities. It doesn't matter if its with this one special person or someone else your just seeing what you like. If your not on close terms with this one special person than your not likely to make it work unfortunately.

      Thanks appreciate your comment! Its just that I can't imagine enjoying kissing any one else or being close with them. It is strange but I feel oh so affectionate towards this friend, love hugging and being close, makes me think I could enjoy a kiss..? Idk if I'll ever really feel as I did with her. It was like a magnetic attraction ! Sometimes I can't figure it out, because besides the amazing hugs and close bond we had, I do not know why I felt so strongly.
