Is it normal i've never had caramel made from condensed milk?

I guess you let the sweetened condensed milk simmer in water for a couple hours and it becomes caramel.is it good? what do you put it on?

    Amazing!!!

    Boil a tin of evaporated milk,

    Get a pie, pasty or buiscuit base or make one, cover it with sliced banana and pour over the caramel evenly then cover with thick whipped cream and crumble a flake on top, you've got an easy, tasty banoffie pie
