Is it normal i've liked the same guy for two years?

I've had feelings for the same guy for two years now. I knew I liked him the first time we texted and the more we get to know each other the more I fall for him. This is the longest time I've had feelings for someone, plus I didn't really love my old crushes unselfishly or unconditionally. It's different this time. And if this matters, he's a long distance friend. But love knows no distance. Anyway I realise this could be bad, because if he loved someone else it'd kill me emotionally, although I'd accept it if she made him happy. So is this normal?

Don't worry, it's normal. I've been in love with the same person for almost a decade, and we're long distance friends too. I've never felt so strongly for another person before either. :)

  • Ahh, long distance relationships between two people who have never met. A recipe for disaster. Two people in a position to communicate while ensuring their flaws that could break the deal aren't on display...Always a gamble.

What is with the whole long distance relationship posts going on lately?

Actually we have met, more than once. The distance is driveable, just too far to see him anytime I want.

      • Apologies. I made an incorrect assumption.
