Is it normal i think we should add this to the list of mental illnes/disorder?

We have many teenagers every year who want to have sex with adults way to old for them. Sometimes they want a teacher, sometimes parents, sometimes celebrities. I think we should declare this an illness. That way we could help and explain to these children why at 16 trying to hook up with your 40 year old teacher is not okay. Maybe get these kids some well needed therapy. You are considered insane for wanting to have sex with children. Everyone seems to kind of ignore when its the children pursuing it. We should teach TEENS what a healthy and unhealthy relationship is.

I think the majority if young people at some point fancy a teacher, celebrity etc. it's just a part of growing up. It's completely normal and as long as they don't act on it then it shouldn't be considered a mental illness.

    • Many do act on it. Not every single child feels that way either. We have children running off with older adults and they think its normal.

Teens are stupid and confused and if they have feelings for an adult and that adult reciprocates those feelings then dontcha think the adult has the bigger problem? Kids are so friggin gullible and naive because they don't always know any better and if they trust the adults judgment or whatever then what the fuck? So if some 15 year old girl thinks she's in love with her 40 year old teacher because he's nice to her and buys her a fuckin ice cream cone and she gets all tingly in her nether regions and they 'run off' together you're gonna put the blame on the kid? Uhhh...wake up man.

        • I never said the adults did not have problems. However telling the child its ok to pursue an adult and telling the adult its bad is not productive. The fact a child would go for a perv like this does not seem healthy or normal.

Who is telling the child its ok to pursue an adult besides the adult being pursued? Just how often is this happening? Who says the child thinks or knows that this adult is a perv? Where are you getting your facts from?

Also, as dumb as they can be, I really don't think that many kids are actively pursuing these types of relationships. I think its more of a passing infatuation that pretty much every teenager has. You're almost making it out like we've got an epidemic on our hands here.

I'm not sure of the qualifying factors for classifying something as a mental illness, but I don't think this meets them.

You clearly ave a mental illness. If you don't, then perhaps we should classify your behaviour as an illness.

    • You do not know my behaviour so how are you going to classify it as anything? You do not truly know me or anything I do. You do not know my life. I am just another random idiot on the internet. Nice trolling though. You do not know how I interact with friends or people. So you can not make up a blind assumption out of thin air. It is like saying I think "You are blue four eyed monkey". First that is absurd and second I have no way of knowing what you actually look like. I get your try to upset me and I just laugh at it. Good try!

You didn't answer my previous question. How are you qualified to decide what is an illness?

I'm not trying to upset you, I was trying to make a point about how you have no right or logical reasoning to decide that someone has a mental illness just because you dont approve, just like I have no right to say it about you. It seems the irony was lost on you.

But now i've explained it in a little more detail I'm sure you understand what I meant.

        • Oh I thought you were just taking a shot at me. I do however get your point. I do not say this because I disagree with it. I am saying this because they seem to have the logic of battered house wife's.

What are your qualifications? What is it that makes you the right person to decide what we classify as a mental illness?
