Is it normal i think she may have been in denial ?

I got along super well with my work mate. I didn't know her all that well so I decided to try to get to know her outside of work as a friend. She came around to my place once and I went to hers once. That was it! She ended up ignoring me for a couple of weeks and when i asked whats happend, the least u could do is tell me why. She sent a rather long text explaining how I'm a really nice, funny girl but she doesn't feel like we have a connection with our personalities.
I was quite surprised and hurt to hear this. I did have a slight crush on her. We exchanged many endearing smiles and she would genuinely smile and stare back into my eyes. As cheesy as this sounds. Im wondering maybe she did feel something & start to freak out ? I feel like there's more to it than what she said. We got along extremely well ?? She didn't give me a chance to get to know each other either :/

    I think it doesn't matter, honestly. Yes, it's possible, but don't try and find out. Either way, she doesn't want to be'friends', so it's the same result. Try and forget about it.
    Also - a lot of people will flirt with members of the same sex, even though when it comes down to it, they're 99 hetero. It's not particularly nice, but they probably just do it out of habit, for fun, or to feel attractive. So that is a definite possibility here. Straight people have been known to flirt with gay people without wanting anything further. Maybe she realised she'd give the wrong message, and that's why she backed out.

    Law of attraction. If she was attracted to you, she'd do anything to be with you. Instead, she was repulsed. Sometimes it happens.
