Is it normal i take it as a compliment when people say i look 16yrs old?

I'm 20 and people always tell me I look like I'm 15 or 16 years old because I am petite and my face looks really young! I also don't wear a lot of makeup. I take it as a compliment when most 20 year olds wouldn't. The reason I take it as a compliment is because when I'm 35 I may look like I'm 25 :) is this normal? Most girls my age ask me why I take this as a compliment ...

    I think a lot of women hate it, because it makes them self-conscious, but you've got the right attitude. Like you, I also look young for my age and I wish I'd appreciated it more when I was in my teens and early 20's. It annoyed me when I was 18 and people thought I was 12. But the older I get, the more I find it to be flattering.

      Yeah some people should take it as compliments... Everyone wants to look older or something lol mostly females I think though

    It was annoying when I was 16 and people thought I was 12. Frustrating when I was 21 and people thought I was 16. Now, it's amusing and flattering.

    Same. I am nineteen, and I get told I look very young for my age. I like it, I'll look younger when I'm old.

    Normal. I'm 24 but I look 17. The good side is that I can still shop at certain places people my age are too worried to shop at. The bad side is that I still can't buy beer or a lotto ticket without an I.D.

      Lol yeah I get ID all the time too when I go to buy cigarettes. One time this guy was like "are you sure this is your ID, are you sure you are over 18?" and I'm like dude just look at the picture on the ID haha

    good for you that you like it. I'm 26 and people are surprised I can drive (they think I'm 16). i dont mind being carded for alcohol or even when I'm carded for r rated movies. it's only super annoying when parents come in to my classroom asking where the "real teacher" is. I've also been mistaken for a 6th grade student by a fellow teacher.

    I'm 17 and I still get handed kids menus sometimes :/ mostly everyone thinks I'm 13 or even 12

    I'm 18 and people tell me I look 25...which is something I'm not exactly proud of. You should be happy your body's stayed that young :)

    Normal. I think I look a bit older I'm 19 and one guy I went on date with when I had just turned 18 said I looked 21 and my friend thinks I'm turning 20 soon although I just told him recently I just turned 19. :( I'm the ugliest lady in world

    I hate it. I've always looked way younger than I am. I never had a problem with it when I was younger, but it bothers me now. I haven't heard it in like six months, I went to a new optometrist..she was telling me how beautiful my son was but she thought he was my baby brother. I corrected her and she asked my age. She was bewildered. "You look like you're twelve!"...........thanks. Asshole.

    It's the same with me. I'm going to be 21 next week, and people still ask me in what grade I'm in, and I'm always like "I'm a third year student at the university". It's a bit frustrating, and when I go buy alcohol almost every time they ask me for my ID. But I look at it the same way you do - when I'm 35, people would think I'm in my late 20s, so it's probably a good thing. :)

      Lol yeah I get ID checked for cigarettes and lighters and the people are always looking at me strangely like "wtf she's not over 18" :P
