Is it normal i only took one vacation in my life?

I'm in my twenties now but only had one vacation when I was a teenager and we went to another state for a week. After that, we never went on vacation again and all my friends travel to different countries but I can't afford it/their parents just pay for them.

I do take a day off here and there but I don't go anywhere. I usually just use those days to relax since I work so much during the week and am exhausted. I also rarely hang out with friends because I have no time in the week and work weekends for my job.

IIN?

That's a bit of a downer. I'd start hanging out at bars and getting obnoxiously drunk.

It's normal and a bad way to go about things. My mantra is to do things even when I'm tired or have no time because you can make up sleep and the memories are great even if you're tired while doing it. Don't do what seakelp says. That leads to all sorts of problems.

    • I don't think memories can be great when you feel exhausted. I don't mean sleepy, I mean exhausted as in I struggle to keep my eyes opened and I have headaches, sore eyes, painful muscles, etc. But yeah, I think I need to do more.

They are. In the end all you remember is that you did a thing, not how you felt doing it. This from personal experience of travelling the world as a ridiculously out of shape guy who has to vomit on every international flight of 8+ hours due to exhaustion. It's still fun in the end.

        • Not for me personally as the last few times I've gone to a movie, I don't remember the movie or what my friend is saying as I'm too exhausted to care. I think if I was just tired, it would be easier. Also, I'd rather be happy and enjoy doing it rather than unhappy and in horrible pain.

That's awesome that you got to travel around the world, maybe I'll do that someday.

Sounds like something more debilitating than just typical exhaustion if you can't even remember anything or enjoy even a sliver of what you're doing. My brother had that, he was too exhausted to enjoy life at all. Maybe you have a condition if you feel that exhausted all the time. Chronic fatigue? fibromyalgia? My sister has fibro and lives in a constant state of fatigue and pain. She doesn't even leave her house anymore because of it. I remember the last time we went on a trip and she literally told us to drive her home before we got to the hotel as she was in too much pain to enjoy anything.

If you're just normally exhausted, I think you could enjoy a little bit but not as well as if you're awake but if you're really not able to enjoy anything, that sounds like a condition for sure.
