Is it normal i not sure how to fill up a gas tank?

I know that it requires you fill up on gas. However how do you estimate how long till you run out of gas, how far the gas station will be before you run out, and how often to fill up. I know it sounds stupid but I never had to do this before and its not like DMV goes over any of this as it only goes over rules of road. I found a vehicle that goes on gas at 30 miles per hour and technically doesn't need a license to operate on the street. If anyone wants further explanation about this "Legal Loophole" I would be happy to explain.

    It's easier to just buy another car. I tried to fill up on gas once, most complicated thing in the world ever.

    I see nobody read your post properly. It looks like you're talking about a scooter or moped with no gas gauge.

    This is how you figure it out. Fill up your tank and note how much gas it holds. Also, fill up a small gas can to bring along. Now look at your odometer and write down the mileage. Now drive that sumbitch until the gas tank is almost empty...stopping periodically to visually inspect the gas level...(you will want to carry the small gas can with you in case you run out on the road...either that or have a friend hold onto it and bring it if needed). When it is almost out of gas, check your odometer again. Now you will know about how many miles a tank of gas gets you. Use this information along with occasionally looking in the gas tank to figure out how many miles you can go. You'll have to remember/write down your odometer readings and when you filled up and check often and plan your trips out in advance. After doing it for a while you will get to know your machine and it will get easier.

      Well I can't drive a car since I have no license and can't borrow a car for test. So I was going to buy a motorized bike which according to road law is completely exempt from getting a license and still legal to drive on street. Since it counts as a bike.

    Read the owner's manual for the bike.
    It will tell the gas tank capacity and the miles per gallon of the vehicle.
    Do the math and you will know exactly how far you can go on a full tank of fuel.

    one good tip is that most cars have a little symbol on the fuel gauge, it's usually a picture of a fuel pump and it has an arrow the points to which side of the car the fuel cap is on, just in case you forget before you pull up..

    There's a display that shows you how much gas is in the tank. It's the one with the symbol of a gas pump. It usually lasts long enough. Even when you drop into the red zone you still got enough to find the next gas station.
    As for how to fill it up, I didn't this either when I first got my licence - Just something my instructor never bothered to explain. But it's super easy: Open the tank, put in the fuelgun, hold the trigger untill it stops. Millions of people do it every day. I'm sure you'll be fine.
    Just make sure you use the right kind of fuel. It usually sais what you need somewhere near the gas tank.
